The Chequers has a warm, welcoming atmosphere which is apparent as soon as you walk through the door. This warmth is further enhanced by the choice of colours and furnishings which co-ordinate beautifully to give a rich, country home feeling. All the polished surfaces sparkle and shine, reflecting the glow of the soft lighting. 
 
 Heather and Alex, the mother and son management team have discussed and debated at length all aspects of the complete renovation of the building and its interior design until a satisfactory conclusion has been reached. The result is without doubt a testament to their hard work and good taste.

 


 One of the main criteria during the renovation was to recreate the Chequers as an inclusive pub, encompassing the needs of both locals and visitors alike. A pleasant place in which to get together and socialise whilst enjoying a drink of their choice. This has most certainly been achieved in the spacious and comfortably furnished lounge bar.
This area is the domain of Heather who has amassed  years of hands on experience in the choosing of, caring for and serving of top quality beers for discerning drinkers throughout the North. She is an ardent supporter of the smaller, independent breweries and offering their produce alongside the more famous names ensures that there is always an interesting choice of at least 4 cask conditioned ales on tap at any one time. 
There are some unusual brands besides the normal premium lagers and an impressive array of fine wines by the bottle or glass.

 


As with the ales the same careful selection process is evident in Alex's choice of ingredients for his dishes in the kitchen. Great emphasis is placed on the use of only the finest produce which is sourced from the most reputable suppliers in the Wetherby area.
There is a Lunchtime menu available which has a selection of lavishly filled sandwiches and other lighter bites, all accompanied by freshly made and dressed salads. These are served every day except Sunday, from Midday through until 5.00pm.
Main menu of extremely substantial content, featuring "exciting new dishes to explore and old favourites to rediscover" is also on offer throughout the day and evening.

All the food available at The Chequers is prepared to order.



 With its panelled dining room, snug bar and spacious lounge bar area the Chequers is an ideal venue whether you're having a celebratory dinner, a casual supper or just a quiet drink with friends.

When the weather permits drinking outdoors, there is a large beer garden with views over the fields beyond.

Should you require accommodation for your stay in the Wetherby area there are 3 tastefully furnished bedrooms with en-suite bathroom facilities available at reasonable rates.
